Actually, all of the really professional stuff is done with multiple programs, not just one. They take advantage of things like smooth color matting in photoshop and the drawable mask, the realistic brushes in painter 8, and digital effects in open canvas, etc. They get some really incredible images - but that's for only the best of the best to do.
