!King_Amazon! notified me that the ladder would be resetting next week, so I checked into it. On the front page of Battle.net under the "Headlines" Title, it has a link that says "Diablo II Ladder Reset".

When you click the link it states:

Battle.net said:
We will be performing a Diablo II ladder reset on June 17 beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. PDT. The reset is anticipated to require approximately six hours of downtime to complete, and during that time all Diablo II Battle.net realms will be unavailable for play. When the reset occurs all existing ladder characters will be moved to non-ladder. This provides a fresh start and new competition for leveling supremacy on the ladder realm.

For more information on the Diablo II ladder please visit our Ladder FAQ.
Thank you K_A for the heads up!

Who will continue playing and what will be your choice of class?

I'm going to continue playing all of my current characters, as well as my necromancer that I'm starting on Ladder. Summoner, of course.

I played ladder only once when I first started playing d2. If I ever do start another char itll probably be a hammerdin, simply because even a badly geared one can still kill shit.

A badly geared hammerdin? Hammerdins are pretty damn gear dependant, and starting one out without being rushed would suck.

The only two characters that, in my opinion, are worth a damn without good gear, are sorcs and necros. They're also the best starting characters for anyone, in my opinion. Both are fully capable of getting all of the way through hell with mediocre gear, and they're both good MFers. Sorcs do meph quickly and teleport makes them very efficient. Necromancers, of the summoner flavor anyway, can solo the Worldstone Keep in hell with very mediocre gear (technically, they can do it with no gear at all.) The Worldstone Keep in Hell is level 85, just like the pit and all of those other places, except there are more monsters, better experience, and Baal at the end.

Whatever floats your boat, though. :P
