Leaving for a week
Reply
Posted 2008-06-22, 09:16 AM
I am just announcing that I won't be here for a week because I will be at Boy Scout summer camp.
I hope it will be my last summer camp before I can get Eagle and book it out of the troop, since the troop I am in has enlarged itself with whining little kids and assholes. The only reason I started Boy Scouts was to get Eagle (since colleges will give many scholarships to Eagle scouts) and enjoy the excursions and trips, but because the troop became the way it is now (over a period of time after we changed scoutmasters) I just want to leave.
So farewall to all until I return...

I used to be in the Scouts. 2nd Rossendale was my group, and I was in the Brass Band.

I can remember when I went to Scout comp - it was rather fun, it was. Hope you have a fun week, too! And good luck with getting Eagle.

I never even made it to tenderfoot. Scouts are a sausage fest filled with quite a few guys that enjoy that sort of thing.

I was in scouts for the better part of my life, actually. Only made Life Scout before I moved across the country and refused to give an Eagle to another troop who had nothing to do with me.

I only had a few merit badges and the project left to do, and I was still 16.

My old Troop was Troop 278 in San Diego, CA. Good luck with your summer camp!

Eh, we did all kinds of stuff. Most trips had at least a 15 mile day-hike, some trips were 3 days of Backpacking and summer would let us do weeklong backpacking trips and/or take our homemade kayaks down the Colorado River.
