The "Old-School" Movement

I had an idea a while back about how we could potentially bring some more activity back to these forums. Something that KA posted earlier reminded me of my idea, and I figure that I'll post it now.

The reason that the forum was active before was the enormous amounts of new threads and discussions that went on every day. People used to want to debate, and discuss, even if it was random bullshit. Now, I'm not going to act like D2 had nothing to do with it, but even after the decline of D2 the forum stayed active for quite a while.

What kept the forum going? The members, of course. Those who liked to post a lot. My idea is this. Lets attempt to bring back all the members with more than 1000 posts. They clearly liked to post a lot at one time. The key is we have to bring them back all at once so the discussions can start up quickly so they stay interested. There are 90 such members. Here are the ones who haven't posted in more than a month:

That's a lot of people. We need people to volunteer to help bring them back. Also, the majority of these people should all be brought back on the same day, or within the span of a few days. We need to set a date when we will try and bring these guys back. I think April 14th looks good.

Anyway, please sign up here if you would be interested in helping bring these people back. I will divide all the old-school members up between people who sign up now. Remember, don't bring them back before we agree on a date.

Also, even if you don't want to contact the old-school members and help bring them back, if you have information on how we can contact them, that would help a lot.

Sign up. I will start dividing up members on Sunday, April 8th.

I really like this idea. I'm not sure how exactly we're going to get some of them back, but I see a lot of those as being possible.

Some of them may have enabled email through the forum in their profile. Doesn't mean that they still check the e-mail, though.

That's the thing. It is the job of whoever is assigned a person to track them down to the best of their abilities. If it's not possible, that's fine, but lets try to do what we can. Other members should help people if they know how to contact someone.

Okay, so far we have Myself, Chruser, and possibly KA, KJ, and Grav. This is pretty sweet. It would be awesome if we could have 10 or so members by Sunday, so we could all have 7-8 people we can look up over the next week and find out how we can contact them. Please sign up if you're at all interested in this.

Ive gone shinto on my buddy list. I'll give him a reminder when I see him.

TacoX and Gamecube are IRL Friends too so they should have each others contact info.

Valmar is on my buddy list but I have not seenhim on in forever. Hes probably in jail with the ammount of drugs he did.

Vollstrecker I am talking to now. He said maybe.

Dan probably wont revist because you were all asshole about his gf.

I'm down to help out. I made a post in KA's "Why don't you post that much anymore?" thread about old members I miss. I only mentioned some and you went ahead and listed EVERYBODY. Man, that's a lot of people that I couldn't think of. UZG, platnum, Doofus, uncapped, DFD, shit man where the fuck are they!?

I'll help even though I don't have anybody's contact info.

Oh Kagom, sweetheart! I've missed you too! *sobcling!*

As for my return, blame Will. Or thank, whatever. Stone him if you wish. Stone him out of thanks, perhaps?

Oh, and err... *wave*
