Movie -- 300

So who here at Zelaron has been smart enough to dish out the hefty cost of watching of a movie and saw this flick?? If you haven't, let me suggest that you do so, immediately! This is an awesome movie that needs to be seen on the big screen. Of course, watching it on DVD will give you to option to watch and rewatch and rewatch every kickass fight sequence this amazing movie has to offer, but until you see it on a screen that no normal house can offer, you are missing out on cinematic genius!

If anyone has ever seen Braveheart, Gladiator, and Troy, let me indulge right now to give you a little better understanding of how ridiculous this movie is.

When I first saw Braveheart, I thought William Wallace was the baddest man on the face of the Earth. That was until I saw Gladiator. Enter the era of Maximus Decimus Meridius (or something like that?), as the new greatest hero in my eyes. He was a better trained warrior, and his fighting movements were swift, lethal, and better thought out than Wallace's. Just when you think it can't get any better, Troy is aired, and although it didn't do as well in theaters and with reviews as the other two movies, there is no doubt that Achillies would kick both Wallace's and Maximus's ass in a sword fight, and quite possibly, both at the same time. Hector, from Troy, is probably on the same playing field as Maximus, if not very close.

Now, imagine a movie that gives way to 300 warriors, of which most are on the same fighting plane as Achillies! Every movement these men made appear to be with the thought process of a chess player, keeping 10 moves ahead of the opposition. Sheilds were used in ways that no other movie has shown yet, and their movements had such raw power and ferocity behind it, that it made me wiggle and giggle in my seat like a little school girl that has her first crush. It was almost embarrassing how much I enjoyed this movie, and yes, in my lifetime, I can almost imagine that I will certainly watch this movie at least 300 times. It was THAT kickass!

To wrap up, see this movie, and see it in the theater. If you like the three movies I mentioned above as much as I do, you will LOVE this movie. Frank Miller, my hat is off to you good sir.

Seen it on IMAX. I've never seen so many severed body parts in as short a time before...

See it in IMAX. It's absolutely amazing. Me and Nikki are going back to see it in IMAX again. It blows all of those other movies (gladiator, troy, what have you) out of the water. Probably the best movie I've seen this year. Only other movie that could possibly compare was Bridge to Terabithia but I think 300 wins.

Yes it did. It definitely blew away Gladiator. A lot of my friends that haven't seen 300 yet are making fun of me for making such claims, but I just keep telling them to see the movie, THEN talk to me. I can't wait to see it again.

They actually made Xerxes the way he is just to make teenage boys in the audience feel uncomfortable. "What teenage boy isn't uncomfortable when it comes to an 8 foot tall God King that wants to dominate you and have his way with you?"

Looks like they succeeded in your case. Insecure about your sexuality HK?

I gotta see it. I saw some of it on a video online but I figured watching it on the big screen would be much better than a 19 inch LCD =P

Yup, I saw it again last night, and clearly, if any guy saw this and thought it was gay, he should be sticking to Sandra Bullock movies. Fucking loser.

Finally saw it last night. I have to say I loved it, though at times the slow mo stuff annoyed me (particularly when it wasn't a fight or battle).

I thought if anything the fight scene slo-mo was excessive. The slo-mo in the rest of the movie was something I really liked. Like the first ambassador type guy that came to sparta on his horses. That was cool.
