in Religion Class (Christian Morality), we had some of our students pretend to be Kerry, Bush, and Nader. We had them do mock debates on issues. But when I brought up things like jobs and when someone brought up oil prices, I was just kinda upset with the answers. The guy pretending to be Bush knew exactly how Bush would handle things and even used Bush's rhetoric. He never answered the job part. But as for oil, drilling in Alaska. I brought up that would disrupt the balance of nature. Then I got attacked for that. All the people who attacked me are pro-Bush. "What? Is an owl more important than a human?" what the flying fuck does that have to do with anything? "Nobody lives in Alaska" uhm...someone MUST fucking live there. A qualification in becoming a state of the United States of America is a certain amount of people living in that land mass. "But prices would be cheaper" probably...but why risk disrupting our delicate balance of nature and fucking us over more than we ought to? But hey, it was mock debates. I just chilled out...but would Bush and his people say that? Would they do that? I don't know what to think anymore...Nader for prez plz.
I brought that up...I still don't think we should harm our delicate balance for cheaper oil...
Lets underestimate, and say there are 50 million cars in America. Now, again, lets underestimate and say that the average car holds 10 gallons a day, and is filled up once a week. Oil prices drop 30 cents, that's $150,000,000 dollars America saves in a week. $150,000,000/week is enough for me to fuck up our "delicate balance with nature" up in some remote region of the Arctic. It has to be done sensibly, but if you're saving us that much money in a week, go for it.
In seriousness, I think that we can find other places out of the arctic for oil. If the arctic is a last resort, then there's nothing I can do about it.

Anywhere you drill you're going to fuck up the "delicate balance with nature."
