Movies: Troy

Story:

The movie is about the Trojan War, depicting the story mostly through the eyes of Hector, Achilles, and a few other charcters. Since it is based off of an exceptional work of literature, the movie inherently has a strong plot to build around. You are given a pretty good idea about the personalities of the characters in the movie, and the actors play their parts pretty well.

Cinematography:

The effects in the movie weren't spectacular, but they were better than average, in my opinion. The battle scenes were well made. It can get somewhat gory, but it is not too bad. What I did like about the movie, was that everything seemed realistic. The setting, the battles, everything.

Acting:

Pretty damn good, in my opinion. All the actors played their roles exceptionally. In terms of acting, I don't think you could have asked for too much more. From the very beginning, you can see the character's personality. Again, the cast does a very good job of making you believe, that if the characters were real, that is how they would have been.

Overall
8.5/10. It was a well-made movie. The previews looked awesome, and it was everything I expected it to be from the previews. The only reason I wouldn't give it a higher score was that it didn't go above and beyond. Nevertheless, it was a good movie. The only complaint I have is that there was no nudity

About the nudity part, you could've seen Helen's chest a number of times but they didn't lower the camera....

I liked it. At first though, Orlando Bloom DID look like Elijah Wood, but I guess he had to look a little womanly.

I gave it an 8/10. Great battle scenes, good tactics, and a nice peice of literature.

I thought this movie was exceptional. The acting was great, the plot was badass, there was a shit load of action, and for a 2 hour and 42 minute movie, that is quite impressive. The characters were portrayed perfectly, and Brad Pitt and Eric Bana did superb, IMO.

Helen was beautiful, and I'm glad there wasn't really any nudity, because half the "almost nude scenes" were of Brad Pitt undressing...

I thought the cinemetography was absolutely incredible. After all, they spent over 150 million dollars on the movie, I'd certainly hope it is. The characters were developed good, battles were badass, plot was great, and overall, I have this 9/10 to a 9.5/10.

To tell you the truth, this is definitely the first movie since Gladiator that I have a huge itch to see again in the theatres. I saw it with my roommates yesterday, and I already told my girlfriend I will see it with her again later this week.

Great flick.
