Well, you don't look too bad. You have clear skin which is good.
I would suggest maybe making improvements in your diet, which if you drop any bad food habits you have and stick to the nutritious sorts of food will do more than help you shed weight. Good diets are also good for your skin, hair and overall health. The number one thing I would say is if you aren't hungry, don't eat. A lot of people eat when they aren't and make it a habit, and those calories add up really fast.
On the subject of tans, I'm not sure. I don't dig tans myself but if your skin is naturally so pale it makes you look pale and goth (like me) you might want to try it. Just be prepared for burnination if you get it via natural sun. It's also hard on your skin and will make it age much more quickly, so I would say go light.
You're keeping your hair long, that's fine, but I would suggest getting it styled after it grows out a bit. That sounds really metrosexual, but if you just have them thin the ends and give it texture, and use some product to make it look slightly messed but still groomed, it would look great.
Thumbs up on the contacts. Personally in most cases I find glasses to be unappealing (unless you can pull them off as sexy, which only certain guys can do) and light eyes are more eye catching on guys than dark ones (for me anyways)
Your clothes could use work, but I don't know what sort of look you are trying to achieve and since I could write a book on fashion tips if I wanted to I'll skip it.
One thing that is very, very, VERY imporatant if you want to look good is grooming. There's nothing more off-putting than a guy with greasy hair or bad breath. That will immediatly repel anyone who looks at you at first glance. I know it seems hard for a lot of guys and it makes them question their masculinity but it's a good idea to put effort and time into how you look, even if it's just a little beyond what the minimum is. You might not tell the difference but other people can, and if they see you looking clean and well-kept, it says things about one's personality.
Whew. I have been watching too many makeover shows.
