Printer Problem

Posted 2004-03-28, 05:45 PM
Heh, now my printer is giving me problems. Actually it has been giving me the same problem for 6 months, and I just never decided to even attempt to fix it, until now.

I turn it on, and the Power Button blinks... That is all it does... Nothing else, just blinks. It won't print anything, and I haven't a clue what is wrong. I've gone through the troubleshooting menus and they couldn't figure it out and told me to contact the manufacturer, which quite honestly, I don't feel like doing...

It is a Lexmark Z52, about 4 years old now I'm guessing.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Is it USB or Parallel? Check the cable and make sure it's plugged in right and not damaged. Next, make sure you have the latest up-to-date drivers for the printer, and that the drivers are for your operating system.

Ugh, well the cables are fine, but I guess I should look into the drivers... Man, I hate driver issues...

Google says:

Don't know how much that helps, though.. you probably already tried this.

Wow, awesome help BlueCube! It turned out being that my color cartridge was defective... Which actually sucks since if I would have known this 6 months ago when the problem occurred, I could have gotten my $60 or so back for the cartridge...

Oh well, I just put back in my old, empty color cartridge I found and it works fine now, just no color!

Thanks again buddy!
