One of the new recipes to be added in 1.10 for the Horadric Cube in Diablo II [ladder and open chars] will allow Runes to be upgraded. An example is demonstrated in a couple of shots released by Blizzard. Three Jah Runes, plus a Flawless Ruby will result in one Cham Rune.
