In Eragon the main character is supposed to have brown hair and the scar is more of a circle. In the movie, he has blond hair and the scar for some reason is the movie logo "e" 0o

That's because film directors seem to think they have some kind of poetic license that allows them to change things in the books to suit their own needs.
