Any MTG Players on here?

A coworker recently got me hooked on Magic: The Gathering. We play pretty much every day over our break. I can't believe I'd never gotten into this kind of game before. Does anyone else around here play?

We're playing modern, and I'm trying to build budget decks (<$30). I just can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a card game. If anyone else here plays do you have any good ideas for decks that fit this?

I've only ever played some of the digital versions, I'm not a huge fan though honestly. I'm guessing it is more fun live.

I still have a ton of cards, but don't play anymore. I enjoy the game, but don't have friends that play anymore. Also, Ice Age is my favorite expansion; I don't care for some of the directions they've taken the game since then. (Though I don't mind them boosting my green counterspell by making interrupts and instants the same thing )

I haven't played in a few months, but I played religiously every week down at the LGS for FNM. All I have heard lately is standard got shit on but not entirely sure why. I don't like the other formats, because the cost goes through the roof.
