Fantasy Football Rosters

So it appears that a few of us actually play in multiple leagues. Well, lets see some of your rosters in those leagues!!

I had my first draft yesterday, and this is the one I care most about because it's amongst all my close and old friends. I'm not ecstatic about my team by any means, but if I get a couple decent free agency pick-ups, I think my shell of a team is there.

QB - Peyton Manning
QB - Brett Favre
RB - Larry Johnson
RB - Maurice Jones Drew
RB - Reggie Bush
RB - Kevin Smith
WR - Greg Jennings
WR - Hines Ward
WR - Donte Stallworth
WR - Javon Walker
TE - Kellen Winslow
TE - Todd Heap
K - Stephen Gostkowski
DEF - Philadelphia
DEF - Baltimore

There you have it! Now, I'm very worried about the following:

1. Peyton Manning. Reports are that he had an unannouced 2nd surgery the other day and things could be a lot worse than anyone is expecting. I'm hoping Thanatos can shed some light on this...

2. MJD. He got a mild ankle sprain in a pre-season game. Is it a lingering problem? Any severity to it? How has Fred Taylor been looking? Is MJD still the consensus for getting a majority of the touches, and those ever important goal line carries? D3V - Please provide answers IMMEDIATELY!

3. My WR's in general. Not very deep and no START power player there. I'm just hoping my QB and RB's can pull out some points for me (we use a Flex RB/WR), and these guys will just be a solid 7-10 points each. Probably not, but this is where I'm going to need to get lucky with pick-ups and players injuries.

That's all for now. Give me answers and update your rosters!

That rumor about the 2nd surgery is not true. Colts played last night in pre-season and Manning was up and down those side lines in a fury because we were playing so bad. If he did have the 2nd procedure, he would have been sitting down or resting up. Dungy and Polian know what they're doing. Manning will start Week 1 and be as productive as always. He's a very smart QB. There's a reason he's played 160+ games in a row.

Other than that, I think your team is decent. You have 3 potentially good RBs; at least one of them should have a breakout game every week.

Your WRs do look a little weak but don't sleep on Greg Jennings. If Aaron Rodgers can throw to him like Favre did, the dude is going to make plays. I had him on my fantasy team last year and he got at least a TD every week. He definitely improved a lot last year. If you're in a real bind, you could trade Brett Favre for a good starting WR. I'm sure somebody will welcome Brett Favre on their team.

Overall, I think your team is pretty decent. If you can get a premier WR, you're in the money.

My first draft is tomorrow so I'll update this thread whenever it's over.

Great update, that is exactly the type of information I was looking to get, especially considering I didn't watch the game and all I have is the internet at my disposal and not much information to be found on that rumor. That really puts my mind at ease. Now, another question for you. How is Marvelous Marvin Harrison's fucking knee doing? Is the bum going to pull another year like last year and not play the whole season basically??

I have my work league tonight, so I'll post my roster for that one when I have a chance as well. The roster above was from a 10-team league, and the work league is going to be a 12-teamer, so there will be a lot less choices. Hopefully some of the players are n00bi3z and I can get a few steals in there and solidify my team.

You know, I'm not too sold on him being back at full strength. He's getting old and of the few passes he caught last night, he ran out of bounds rather than getting hit. The dude isn't going to have that great of a year, but remember, this is Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison we're talking about: the best QB/WR tandem in the history of the NFL. He's still going to have an impact in our offense, I just don't know how big of an impact it'll be.

Ahh... I had heard the rumor as well, and was skeptical myself. I can't find any information of it on the team's website or on NFL.com, so I still remain skeptical, but I would expect them to rest him all pre-season regardless if he's hurt or not (after a surgery).. so, we'll see.

Also, i'll update my rosters once the Zelaron draft is complete, until then I'm too lazy to even bother, lol.

Well, I picked MoJo up in the second round in my pay league, so that should tell you something. Romo/Mojo actually since I was the 10th pick out of 10, so I got romo first pick, and right behind I grabbed MoJo. He's going to explode this year, I think Fred is slowly but surely going to slip into his retirement which is good for the team, considering how explosive Greg Jones has been in the preseason, this year is going to be Jacksonville's biggest rushing year IMO, it's definately set up for it.
