...On a more serious note, Wallow...what the hell, man? You know, I can understand having negative feelings about it. Hell, my ex-girlfriend was stoically against it for reasons I'll never really be able to understand, similar to yours. "Just because" is not an excuse for thinking something is wrong. It's a cop-out.
Why did Hitler decide Genocide would be a good idea? Just because the Jews were a convenient scapegoat.
When you look through history you'll find alot of "Just because" mentality that has brought about some true atrocities. The salem witch trials, for example. Not understanding something is fine, hell, we'll likely never be able to understand everything in this universe, but that is no cause to deny people their rights.
With so many people in the world it's inevitable that there will be differing lifestyles, opinions, and whatnot. This is why the U.S. (despite it's obvious shortcomings) has the moniker of "Land of the Free" With the separation of church and state (or supposed separation, as it is), all should be free to live their lives as they see fit without fear of persecution by religious zealots.
So I say let them get married. Women and minorities can vote, marry, and carry on their lives nowadays just as the white man did way back when, and it's high time gays get the right to live their lives as the rest of us do. Just my two cents.
