I would assume so, but as much as I hate to say it, an unbelievable number of black people actually perpetuate the stereotype, not just a few. Especially young black males -- like me.
If white people do it, it's just some dumb bitch, but this is what's expected of my race and it sickens me.
Since when is the general consensus that black people have to act like that? Are you saying society expects black people to behave like that? Maybe where you live, but I work with a lot of highly intelligent black people who negate that stereotype tenfold.
Well, that is what seems to be the expectation from us here.
I can't help but notice many of my peers, at least in high school, did not help put an end to that stereotype.
That's because theres a difference in the peers, but if I say anymore i'm branded a racist!
Censored, this segment has been removed for and against the judgement of D3V, thank you, that is all

Mj's right, though. Black people really don't help their image much.
*insert Carlos Mencia quote here* And of course, I can't remember one off the top of my head.

A lot of black people seem to love perpetuating the stereotype and to horrible degrees. I see it at work too. They come in being loud, acting foolish, dressed in really horrible clothing, talk with ebonics, and they talk about how they don't want their baby's daddy involved in their child's life. Sounds bad and like I'm exaggerating, but only a little. It IS very much a fact I've noticed.
What's scary was that black people in Mississippi (the area I lived in) weren't that bad in perpetuating the stereotype. My best friend growing up was black and he was a very intelligent guy and he is probably the biggest influence on how I grew up (in terms of attitude and how I talk).
