I've always liked N/E - you're going to be out of the thick of the action most of the time anyway because you're a Necro. Same goes for Elementalist.

You have good MP as a Necro, and high Soul Feast points mean that you'll rarely run out of MP - perfect for spells.
Hmm... I was thinking Mesmer so I had more hexs and such for disable, I like to play with strategy rather than brute force. Are you saying Mesmer would be a waste of a subclass? I have a monk right now at level 5 also. What are the good aspects of going N/E or N/Mo?

Oh also I'm a blood necro, and as mesmer I can also slow the npc and drain his life. I can kill 5 or so at a time this way.

With my playing style, Me would be a waste. But I like to stand back sending fireballs into everyone whilst the henchies get into the thick of the action.

The good thing about Mesmer is that it's a great interrupter, makes the most of MP and can hex something to hell and back. If that's the way you play, then obviously Mesmer is the choice to go for.
