Sooo will ps2 controllers work with ps3, they look the same to me.

Erm... I don't believe they will, unless you have some kind of port hammered into the PS3.

They look similar, yes, but are they the same? No,

The L2 and R2 buttons are triggers, not buttons. There is a little PS3 button in the middle of the controller. They are completely wireless. A LOT lighter. And no rumble, instead SIXAXIS - tilt function, in other words.
