Its an animal that they allready have fossils of, that the evolution scientists say died and went extinct "millions" of years ago! what does an environment or area that doesnt have "high human scientific population" have to do with anything? what does that even mean? Seriously!
It's a rock climbing rat... I don't know many people who live on boulders in the middle of a country that I've only heard of once before. It means where we human beings live and where these rock rats probably live are completely different, and it doesn't suprise me that they could have been missed until now. That, and I'm sure people didn't go out rock rat hunting just in case those fossils turn out not to be extinct.
