Best Villains in Gaming

Kuja-
Obvious I like him, yes. But still, even after playing FFIX years ago, I still am impressed by the character. He demonstrated elegance, power and intellect coupled with a firm sense of evil.

Moebius-
Ah, Raziel got me into LoK and this timestreaming menace is truly a mastermind. His sheer delight in the havoc he causes with his schemes is rather infectious. I know I laughed along with him at certain points, despite the fact he was effing over my character. His first act alone in Blood Omen was a testament to his sinister precision.

Solidus Snake-
The Snake that gets the least amount of credit and I don't understand why. He was a genius character, orchestrating all of MGS and then even when outsmarted in 2, he formulated another plan on the spot. He is somewhat an anti-hero for his ideals are the destruction of despots, but he does it in such a ruthless manner that it might be labeled more evil than what he could have done. He was simply a sweet antagonist in many ways ranging from his look, his voice-actor and of course the amazing scene where he took down the three RAYs and then stood atop the fallen pieces of junk and simply said "stupid machine!"

More to come later.

Kuja seems to have a gender crisis, imo. I still like him, though.

My favorite? Sephiroth in the KH games. Badass. I didn't like him as much in FFVII.

You're right man. I forgot that. Hollywood was intimidating.

Sephiroth in KH1 is Lance Bass. In KH2 every line is "dark" or "darkness." They were striving for originality with that dialogue.

Anyway, my list goes on:

Albedo-
A masochist maniac who cackles as he mutilates himself. Though he humanized in EPII, his final moments before his "demise" were a lot of fun. He reverted back to his old self and in the battle he once again glories in agony. He's also pretty clever but I would have prefered if he was a bit brighter.

Bowser-
A testament to "at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try again." The big turtle/dragon has been a lovable nemesis to defeat again and again in the Mario games.

Hell, I LOVED Sephiroth in FFVII! You're crazy! CRAZY I tell you, CRAZY!!!!

I haven't played enough games to know all the good villains. Sir Teabing was a pretty good bad guy though! Oh wait, that's not a video game, yet.

To say the least, my favorite villains are:
1) Ganon from Zelda: Ocarina of Time
He was such a bad ass and loved to destroy all the land (Hyrule) around him. He originally was a theif from the bad land area (cant remember the name right now) and wanted to own the TriForce. Truely the worst villain ever

2) The Covenat- Halo 1 and Halo 2
Somebody on this forum knew that one of us Dragoons would post this. Religious war agains humans when we didnt do anything to start the war??? All these weapons and all of this trying to take over earth. Good job assholes.

3) Bowser- Mario Series
I dont even have to explain this one because a dinosaur spitting fire is not worth enough of a description

Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog was such an evil dictator in the television series, where he had already taken over the world, and had imprisoned a lot of its inhabitants in robotic shells.

Ghaleon from Lunar 1 and 2 - he was plain badass. The whole first game he does nothing but manipulate you from the beginning, but he truly shined when the sequel came around. He fights you several times but he's really on your side, only because the game's real villains are unworthy of the world in his mind. even if he's unable to claim it for himself, he makes sure no one else gets the prize he lost as well.

Irenicus (Baldur's Gate 2) - an incredibly human character for a villain. His whole fight is simply for survival. He is a criminal, yes, but he was given an incredibly awful for his crimes. His life and humanity are slowly fading from him and he actually steals the soul of your character to keep himself alive (and then you start going through similar to what he's suffered for years)

The Master (Fallout) - another truly great villain. You never really find out his origins but he's a villain who truly believes what he is doing is right. (Heck, if you're character's smart enough, you can actually convince him he is wrong)

Sephiroth is in his own leauge, there is no other villain that even comes close to him.

Other villains worth mentioning would be Revolver Ocelot, Albert Wesker, Liquid Snake, and Kuja. Kain and Grey Fox would be but they aren't really villains once the entire story has been told.
