Well, she is the queen of the Commonwealth, not just Canada... But no, she doesn't do TOO much. By law, she does have supreme power over everyone, but she chooses to let the politicians do their jobs.
The only thing I don't like about the Royal Family is how everyone who lives in England (and possibly Canada and other countries under rule, I'm not sure) is a "subject", not a "citizen". Call me a stereotypical American if you like, but I wouldn't like being referred to as somebody's "subject". And I know the difference is mainly wording in the case of the US vs GB, seeing as how we have similar rights, but it still would get to me.

My girth isn't anything to bitch and moan about in long, elaborate paragraphs.
We watched a video on "Elizabeth R" the other day in British Literature, I thought the whole Hat of State thing was kinda funny.

She is basically our figurehead...whilst that prick Blair runs the country our Queen goes around talking to people, throwing giant parties...when i was playing with a Scout band a few years ago we got to play at her 75th birthday (something around 75 at least)...pretty fun...that was the second time I met/saw the Queen and nattered with the Duke of Edinburgh...
