History of the World Part 1 - Great movie by Mel Brooks. Funny as fuck and it pokes fun at historical events (Like the Inquisition and the French Revolution)

Glory - Great movie starring Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman as the first Black Regiment in the Civil War.

Hard Rain - Christian Slater, Morgan Freeman, and Minne Driver try to stop a corrupt police officer from destroying the town during a very bad flood.

And no, I don't believe that this movie caused and tension between races at all. The movie is about the main character's misguided views of the world, and how he comes to change them. The movie is about the evil that results from racism.
