It uses way more bandwidth to import an image from your computer (such as the bandwidth-crippling avatar) then it does to link it to an image online. I am sad about the destruction of the attachment feature since it was one of the only ways for me to post certain pictures. I guess it may be due to it's abuse, misuse, etc. by idiots who saved the file and then attached it rather than just linking.
