quick advice on my sorc stats

im working on a not so special sorc, kind of like everyone else's, i just need something to start off with, so for a straight up blizzard sorc where should my stat points be? i got max blizzard, ice bold, ice ..ball? whats it called? and glacial is almost maxed. blizz is at like 2k+ damage, i got 1 point in cold mastery too.
i got shit for items, just what ive found so far which is horrible!
i havent played since 1.08 so sorry for the noobish question.
ive gotten to very different answers as far as stats, one said all vit, another had it spread out with alot in energy, which i dont think is right.

Well, if you get good gear then you don't need any points into mana.
For starters you only need enough str for all your gear, the same for dex. Since you aren't melee you really dont need max block. If you are going to wear things like occy, shako, sojs then don't put any to mana, and just pump up your life with vit. But if you don't have these items then add some to mana. My sorc which is a blizz sorc and does 3.2k damage has these stats and can kill pindle.

str-159- prolly way higher than i needed
dex-80
vit-290
eng-70

It gives me like 330 mana and about 750 life when my gear is added to it. Btw my gear is shity, trust me. Hope this helps in someway.

Str- enough to use items
Dex- Base
Vit- remaining stats
Energy- Base

Max bliz and synergys- remaining points into mastery. 1 a armor (ex frozen armor), 1 into static (optional), 1 into mana shield (optional)

I would change the DEX to have enough for a decent block %, as block returns a better survival rate than an extra 100-200 life.

Make sure to put a point into teleport incase you ever use her for mfing meph.

ok cool, i have some decent life now, i can survive a whole lot better, i wish i read that before i put all those points in life though, i guess i should have put it in dex then?

here's the deal, im 81 now, i maxed blizzard, cold bolt, the one after it, and i have glacial at like 16 or 17
my blizzard damage is only like 2541-2737 isnt that kind of shitty? i have a bastard of a time just trying to kill nm meph.... i remember back in the day taking that thing out in like 10 seconds. i put 1 point in cold mastery too
now is that damage normal? i mean i picked blizzard cause its what everyone seems to have so i figured i would start out easy, what the hell is with that damage when i hear everyone else talking about their characters doing like 15k and up with whatever cool stuff they have?
please tell me it gets better...

do the moat trick man you should have no problem killing him even with 1k dmg bliz...

... i used to use mephbot back in the day , i dont remember a moat trick... then again i was never the one actually killing him... you get him caught on something or something like that?... or something...?

All you do is tele to him, lure him down towards the moat inbetween the two landings (where he is and where you come down) stand far enough back so that you can see him just a little bit and fire away.
