I've read a few articles about both of them, and from all of the positive input on here I may go out any buy it.

It is definitely worth it. I don't really know why I decided to just buy it recently, but I'm glad I did. It is slowly turning into an obsession of mine, since it is quite possibly the hardest game I've ever played, and I'm not even on the hardest difficulty level, yet.
Great game, great times, and it is only a matter of time until Dante Won't Die in Dante Must Die.
Well it sounds pretty kick ass. I'll probably definately buy it because I haven't bought any ps2 game in quite a while.

I've only played the first one, I own it, I've beaten it one time and never touched it again. I didn't even want to play through it because I disliked it so much.
I just beat it on Hard, and I now have the option to play as "The Legenday Dark Knight", but I don't know if it is worth it? I wonder if he can use Sparda's Devil Mode after getting the sword?
I can't find any walkthroughs or guides that talk about the skills of the Dark Knight. He doesn't use Ebony and Ivory, and he starts with more than just the Force Edge. Its some other sword that he weilds..
I'll probably just beat Dante Must Die mode now and check out what the game is like in Devil Mode the whole time.
