Yeah, but it'll probably just be different styles of displaying the HP/MP status bars, like in 2003. Unfortunately, there's no indication that it'll continue to use the side view battle system, it's just going to be an "unmoving picture in front of HP/MP" system.

Oh well, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it except to continue doing random experiments with RMXP.

Maybe not, if the scripts are in any way different.. It would depend heavily on whether or not they have the same parameters, routines, etc. Of course, most work on RM2k3 games will stop right when RMXP comes out, so we'll hopefully see what the scripts are soon enough..

Eh, they removed a few things (mainly faceset related), and of course battle charsets in general. Again, if they changed the internal scripting system to a different format for "ease of use" or something, that will have MASSIVE effects on any imported event scripts. Of course, they might just be releasing the same exact thing with a facelift, but I'm hoping that it is at least somewhat more efficient, and not just RM2k3 with a new (read: old) battle system and OMG 3 CHIPSET LAYERS.

The Scripting Language Thing is interesting, however. Athough I REALLY hope that they make the scripting window resizable, I would hate having to set my resolution to 1280x960 just to see the currently non-working OK button.

And here's to hoping that RMXP is available for sale in the US when it comes out.
