If you want that then i would suggest fallowing HoH's plan, I have also put 20 points into thorns for hell cows and other things that do a lot of damage. The build i guess could be like
str see below
dex need to have so you have a 75% chance to block, might need more depending on your weapon
vit see below
mana none

I have my str and my vit almost equal on my pally who is at lvl 75 here is what he uses it is decent stuff i guess. But you would be able to improve on
helm-stealskull
armor-silks of the victor
gloves-venom grip
boots-tearhuanch
wep-ls
shield-rhyme prolly want Hoz here

Stat spread, where should i put my points?

I would say enough for SS, your enigma(If you own one) and ect. About 200...

I have dex enough for SS becuase that is usually only thing that needs dex for my pallies. Just put enough that you will need.

Life... Res of the points into life... That will be a key in zealot becuase you will mostly duel hammadins and fohing runners.. I would use charge against fohing runners and againt sorces once you lock them. I usually do. Hammadins will be a problem becuase their range but if you can get into their circle then more power to you.
