It's not that I'm against homosexuality, that is a part of life and should be accepted, what doesn't fit too well is marriage.

Besides the religion.

They say they want the financial benefits.. Why do they think they deserve it?
The benefits are for a couple that's going to provide for society as a married couple, point being procreation, the benefits are so the married couple can afford to properly raise children, No offense meant, but I really don't think same sex couples can provide both of the essiential elements to good child development, Mother and father. So that rules out the basis on wanting the financial benefits... or something like that.

Bush is an idiot if he even think's it has a small possibility of passing. It's completely unconstitutional. The government has no right what-so-ever to tell people who they can and can't marry. It's a decision between two adults who are in love with eachother, and no one else. If two people want to get married, it's their fucking choice. To put an idiotic ban on such a thing as Same-sex Marriages is prejudism.

...IMHO.

Why the FUCK do any of you idiots care what anyone else does? This is so GOD DAMNED stupid. How can YOU be the person to tell someone else what they can or cannot do? It's like me telling Chrome that he can't smoke weed. If he doesn't harm me, or anyone else, WHY THE FUCK should it matter. I don't sympathize with gays. I just don't give a flying rat's ass about them being "married". If there is a God, let him deal with everyone his way. Becuase if you believe in God, shouldn't you NOT be judging people?
1) Smoking weed is illegal almost everywhere in the US
2) Church and state are supposed to be separate anyway, therefore, "God" should not be a part of this. You don't have to be religious, etc to think that it isn't right. I'm an atheist, I'm against gay marriage.
3) It isn't really judging people. They're not imprisoning those that are married, they're just keeping them from being married in the first place.

4) Never say something is stupid because you dont' agree with it, it shows your immaturity.

Actually, what he's calling for can't be "unconstitutional", because what he's calling for is a constitutional amendment, which would obviously rectify any such conflict.

Adrenachrome is right about the position of mariage in law. There's nothing stopping homosexual couples from having a mariage cerimony in a chuch that will allow it, and exchanging vows, plenty of homosexual couples do that already in states that don't allow homosexual mariages; the only thing this effects is their ability to claim married status on legal forms.

I can't believe that anybody would deny the right for somebody to marry someone.Yes,gay marrieages are illegal but why?Is it because of religion or does the government discriminate against homosexuals.I don't care why they are illegal but if I was running things I would make same-sex marriages legal in every state and country.

Bush is like any human. Any human has the right to their opinion. It just so happens that Bush has the power and influence to make a difference with his opinion, whether us insignificant fucks disagree or not. Its a topic that people feel there is a debate to be had.

Fuck it. I know gays. My ex-girlfriend is a carpet muncher. I still think they are the dirt of the Earth. Opinions are opinions. There would be just as much controversy if he sanctioned gay marriages, than if he didn't, so shut the fuck up about it already.

Gays are generally not accepted, and to an extent, hated by the majority of people that don't accept it. This will always be, IMO, and if not, thats a damn shame.

Wow.. ok.. let me break this down for you.

1-- That's my point. Why shouldn't anyone be able to smoke weed, as long as they aren't harming anyone but themselves. (This statement was directed more at Chrome then anyone else, since I know his stance on weed. )
2--Please, it isn't about God at all? Does your President go to church every week? Yep. Do you think his thoughts are influence by church? Yep. HELL he was a coke head until he "found" God.
3-- I'm sorry, but if you say "that's wrrong" you've judged that person. Bottom line. You don't have to be in court to be judged. This statement was directed at Christians anyway.
4-- I absolutely did not call ANYONE stupid. I said ignorance. Let's look up the definanition of ignorance.-- The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed.-- Now how does that constitute me saying anyone is stupid? I am generally stating that they are uninformed about peoples rights.

And for your last question... You've actually answered part of it yourself, isn't there supposed to be a seperation of church and state? How then, if marriage is a religious ceremony, can the Govenment say it's not right? If this is a government for the people, of the people, by the people, then why is it "gay" people don't have as much as a chance as hetrosexual people?

Actually, no; as I already stated, this isn't about a ceremony in a church, this is about a piece of paper that says you can indicate that you're married to the other person on your taxes, on job applications, etc. Do you really think that the fact that gay couples can't get that paper keeps them from having a wedding cerimony? I can tell you for a fact it doesn't.

I say allow gay marriage, but don't call it that.

Also make it illegal for someone who is gay to keep rubbing it in other's fucking faces. That pisses me off to no end. Why the fuck do gays have to prance around and show off the fact? I don't see hetero couples having parades.
