When do you people start scouting for your opponent. Mine is usually after i start warping in my second gateway. I find that this is the best time to scout. What do the rest of you think? Im sure that peoples scout times are different. Post them here!
I scout as or after im building my first supply depot, this means when i get into their base i can tell which tech tree they are going to build and what I have to do to counter them. I hotkey my scout as number 2 and CC as 1 so i can easily go to scout and back to base very fast.
When i scout i usually stay on my scout and go to my base for a second or 2 to build and go right back until it`s dead or until i don't need it anymore.
Eh, Barracks = Scout time. I figure that at that point, I'll know whether they're farther along than I am... say, they're building zerglings already or something.
If I'm playing on a team I usually play protoss and start scouting after I have a couple of zealots, or I let my teammates scout for me. On the other hand if I play 1v1 I usually go zerg and send an overlord to their base as soon as I can and just linger over them until they kill it off.
on temple i scout nearest position with ovie, if its 6 and 9, i expo, but if its 12 and 3 i dont. I usually scout after 1st ovie, and take there gas or something, just annoy the fuck outta them
If im zerg i usually scout with about 5 drones after i make my creep colony, if i find a zerg i make 5 sunken colonys on thier base and usually they are completed before the enemy has a chance to do anything about, while hes fending off the colonys ill be pumpin out a few lings to finish the job. Thats if im rusing the oponent though...
still, they have less aswell, because 4 colonies alone are 300 minerals, so its usually either that or second hatch, and to morph its 200 minerals, so lair and extractor come late.
