I'm feeling the Cold Sorc's PvM power. I have a Cold Sorc with max'd synergies, Cold Facets, the works, packs 6,000 dmg Blizzards with -250% Enemies Cold Resistance.
Sofar as when she's at 900 Magicfind, she only does 3,000 blizzard damage with -185% Enemies Cold Resistances. Even with that low damage, the -resists really pour on the pain. Also, Blizzard is all about placement. If you place a small amount south east of your target the blizzzard damage hits quickly and nastily.
Cold Sorcs are hurt as they can't do shenk/eldritch. Anyone can do Pindle. Anyone can do Meph. Fire sorc's are a little hurting on Baal with the first minions. Lightning Sorcs have a helllof a time with Barduc, Cold Sorc's needa merc to kill off the Undead Mages.
My only problem with Cold Sorc mf'ing is there seems to be a large amount of Cold Immunes in act 5 Hell. Granted, I see a large amount of Lightning Immunes and cheer, but Besides the Worldstone Keep, Arreat Plateu, and Frozen Tundra, the rest of the act is cold immune. I find mf'ing with my cold sorc in Act 4 gives me insano good drops. 3 Tal's armor over the past 2 weeks. I might jus' be lucky, but I'm thinkin' this is love...
Light Sorc's are good, but I think lightning isn't strong enough in its massive kill-ability compared to Meteor and Blizzard. Meteor and Blizz have massive synergies and do area affect, which in my mind, is greatly important, as the best drops are from uniques not superuniques.
That being said, I still have a light sorc for fun.
Oh, also, no matter what type you are, get a Holy Freeze Merc, they're lifesavers. I'm still torn about a 4+ Needle or a perfect Eth Tomb Raider they're both badass. Anyhow, All Sorc's are good pvm/mf.
