If it's just cracks on the casing, it's not a big deal. You don't plan on going river rafting with the thing, do you? I didn't think so.

Mmm... good ol' Nintendo. My Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, Nintendo 64. Back when I was a young buck, I dropped these things on an everyday basis, and to this day, every single one of those consoles work perfectly. Where as I treated my Playstation and Playstation 2 like exotic cars. And they still fuck up. Nintendo sure can make them things last. Sony on the other hand SUCKS! Well, they suck at durablity, other than that, they ROCK!

The PSX was awful about that. The track for the laser was originally made of plastic, and because the console wasn't as well ventilated as it should have been, those tracks had a tendency to melt. That's why so many people who still own Playstations from '96 or '97 have to stand them on their sides so they'll read the discs.

Okay Alpha_Omega, I took a good hard look at my Gamecube last night, and I was able to a few very faint cracks under the surface of the plastic. They were all in the places you described yours as being. Those are nothing to worry about. When plastic hardens, there are places where the stress on the casing is greater and there will undoubtedly be small, harmless cracks because of it. They will not spread, they will cause no harm, they are nothing to worry about.

I thought you were talking about plainly visible cracks on the very surface. That would be abnormal.

thnx for explaining because the first time i saw it a had tears in my eyes because it would mean that my gamecube wouldnt be perfect anymore but since more people have it,it means its normal and that my gamecube still is perfect!
