Windows XP CD-key changer?

Is there such a thing as a Windows XP CD-Key Changer, i think when i installed I messed up something, and now I can't upgrade my XP, cuz it says my WIndows XP Cd-key is not legit.
P.S. I wanna upgrade cuz in order to run Java on IE6, u need to upgarde the Java Machine Thingy on Windows.

Anyone know what i should do?
