i'm like, indifferent?
i don't know, i seem to get the idea that everyone thinks i'm wrong about everything ALL THE TIME.
i try to logically make them understand, and they just backsass me with..
pseudo-intellectual, sociology logic.
Example, i told this girl (who has a kid, and his a single mother going to college)
that "how can you say what that criminal is doing is wrong?"
and well this is how the conversation went.
TV: "blah blah, man commited crime etc"
her: the justice system sucks, that guy gets to be in the free community?
me: the justice system sucks, cause it's full of irony, it's basically filled with "i'm right, you're wrong, but i have no concrete proof"
her: what do you mean? stealing is WRONG
me: and why is it wrong?
her: because it's wrong, i don't like it.
me: becuse you dont' like it, means it's wrong? well fuck, then that means if i don't like something it makes it wrong? why the fuck are criminals in jail then? you can't say something is wrong because you think it is, that's circular logic
her: oh so you just want people going around stealing stuff from others? like your guitar?
me: what does my guitar have to do with this, it's an object i own, and if someone steals it, what of it? i'm going to take it back : |
her: what if he hurts you? don't you think he should be punished?
me: him attacking me, or any other variable doesn't have anything to do with the subject at hand genius, he took something, i took it back. Maybes, and "depends" are completely excluded, you have to be practical about this.
her: but you can't be practical, because life is full of maybes, life is full of morals!
me: no, life is not full of morals and maybes you twat, morals are half-assed opinions about what you should and shouldn't do. and life has nothing to do with this.
her: oh then i'll just steal what you have and you won't get mad?
me: emotions are irrelevant as well you tool, listen i'll make it simple. you can't say something that person did is WRONG, because you dislike what he did. let me get this down to a decent level.
me: if i do something, and you dislike it, that makes it wrong no?
her: yeah, but it's also cause stealing isn't good.
me: then if that's the case, why do we have criminals in jail at all?
her: because we have oficials that are trained to do such things
(she's completely avoiding the subject, like a moron)
me: his job is irrelevant, you can't say that the criminal deserves to be punished because you dislike it, becuase if you say that, then pedophiles should be out on the streets doing whatever they please. those criminals LIKE to do the things they do, why should we deprive them of their tastes, because we have different tastes?
That makes you a hypocrite, and that is why the justice system is FLAWED.
her: no that makes no sense, how could stealing be a good thing? a right thing? you're just crazy, your logic makes no sense.
That's basically my daily argument with people.
Be honest with me, is she avoiding the subject, too stupid to understand, or am i making sense, and she just can't have a decent debate?
this seems as if i basically held a monologue and she gave a half-assed opinion as to why she thinks, jenny should be pregnant, when it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT.
am i being to vague? or is my cultural society ( my college neighbors) complete morons?
and as for the sociology logic statement.
i mean things such as: "no, that kid didn't steal because children don't do that"
"but children ar ecapable of doing anything if they think of it"
"YEAH BUT EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, AND I HAVE NO CONCRETE PROOF SO I'M JUST GOING TO BASE MY LOGIC OFF OF, I DON'T KNOWS AND THINKS THAT MIGHT HAPPEN, BECUASE THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN ARE USELESS TO ME"
that's the sociology logic i hate.
