This is a hard decision.Really depends on the catagory that u choose from.
Best Game: Final Fantasy XI (im not explaining why right now)
Biggest let down: hmmm...Lord of the Rings: Return of the KIng(the final boss was way harder then anything else in the game, it was like 10x harder and it had to much from the Two Towers happen at the beggining, kind of dumb. Loved the movies though)
Biggest suprise:...have no idea. decide for this one later
Best game of 2004? I'm waiting to learn more about Metroid Prime 2 and Wind Waker 2. I'd bank on either one of those.
Biggest letdown? Don't really know. If Devil May Cry 3 is released this year, I'd bet on that.
Biggest surprise? Nintendo's "mystery machine" will be a giant robot octopus that is programmed to seek and destroy Osama Bin Laden, George W. Bush and Bill Gates by any means necessary.
I'm 90% sure HalfLife2 will be the biggest thing along iwth world of warcraft.. both games I plan on getting!... its been a long time since a great game came out ...
Best game: HalfLife2
LetDown:HalfLife2 is delayed!
Surprise:Halflife2's engine!
all halflife2.. i think u can all tell im hyped about that!
I don't know what will be the biggest game this year, but I fully expect Half Life 2 and Doom 3 to be letdowns. I have no interest in World of Warcraft or any other MMORPG either.
Civilization 4 perhaps? I'd like an integration between the civ and alpha centauri technologies into one, mutli-world based strategy game.

I've actually only played Civ 2, and I loved it. I hear Civ 3 is a lot more in depth and tougher, but I've yet to get around to purchasing it. If Civ 4 is coming out soon though, I'll probably just hold off until that hits the market.
