I guess since I can't look it up I may not be entirely correct, But I do remember in class talking about the continents at one point in time being entirely connected, and then a combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes supposively seperated them? Which is also hard to beleive, but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles.
