Community Game - to be or not to be???
Reply

I've noticed something.

I've read most of the posts about Zelaron community games before I popped along, and I've read the ones after I popped along, yet as far as I can see, none of them have been started. You've all said it can be done, yet it hasn't.

WHY???

At the risk of sounding sexist, I'm gonna have to quote:

Quote:
If you want to know something can be done, ask a man. If you want that thing doing ask a woman.
And that's all we are, a bunch of men, and some women, saying things can be done, getting all exited saying "I will help with this...", but then letting the idea gather dust on a high shelf in the middle of nowhere?

WHY???

If the community games part of this forum were a person, it would be sitting on its fat behind drinking can after can of beer! Download and watch the clip and you'll know what I mean.

Mainly because group projects fail 90% of the time when there's no actual face-to-face communication. And getting random internet strangers to agree on an RPG story (let alone the battle system/items/weapons/etc.) is nearly impossible.

And, again, people don't like to work on "other people's" projects.

This is why I decided not to go ahead and do one.

P.S. Me and my friend Liro are doing Axis Return together but we live next door to each other. We still fight over small things like item names though and it has led to a few physical tussles.

Well, actually, Believe it or not, anyone who has asked for help from here and had many answers is in some way helping your game and is in a small way apart of it. So technically, it is a community game, with one person doing all the work! Sorry, but it's true!

Fair enough....but....the only why they are helping is by......telling you how to do things, not really actually doing them or giving ideas or creating maps etc. but I know what you're getting at.
