Why do you think electing one president would be better than the other? I sincerely do not believe that the president we elect has any real power to change anything.

Just my paranoia.

Xenn 2008-01-15 07:00 PM

Well, given that Democrats now have majority control in Congress, if we elect a Democratic president some stuff might actually get accomplished.

Though Obama would still be the best choice (IMO) if he were white, you can't argue that being black carries some weight and might encourage the rest of the world to take another look at America. I think it would relieve some of the sentiment that 70% of Americans and pretty much every other country has that America is retarded (in its current political state).

He's not even really black, his mom is like white irish for god's sake.

Clinton has my vote.

Thanatos 2008-01-22 07:00 AM

Why is this?

Coming from the guy that support the Iraq war so ironically back in '03 I wouldn't expect anything less from you, I'm sure this mindless decision is just as biased as your backing of a pointless war that is now costing us 5 million dollars every minute.

Did you watch the debate last night?

Demosthenes 2008-01-22 11:15 AM

No.

Fuck u ww

D3V 2008-01-22 11:26 AM

Then would you care to elaborate why you would in agreeance to vote for Hillary? .. I mean if you don't have a reason that's cool, but uncharacteristic of you. The Debate last night was something to see, quite bickersome mainly started on behalf of the 'bitch', which all points we're repeatedly shot down and proven wrong by Barack.

I'm more interested in the issues than public speaking. In general, I tend to agree with Hilary slightly more than I do Obama.

D3V 2008-01-22 11:32 AM

That's fine and all, care to elaborate in any detail in any issue that they honestly differ?

I mean they're almost the same figures policy wise, they only have much different personalities as well as political games..

*Edit* Let me also throw this in there...

I just fell that Obama completely deconstrcuted anything that was thrown at him, and he still answered every question completely and clearly. Also, at the end of the debate, the ending question Edwards and Obama both answered completely, honestly and clearly. While Hillary did not, she did not answer the question at all, even my girlfriend that isn't even into politics and could really care less noticed that and pointed it out while Hillary was talking, which I found hilairious.

It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

Vault Dweller 2008-01-24 12:39 AM

My concern with Clinton has to do with her stance on legislation with regard to the entertainment industry. The types of policies she talks about enacting (specifically, replacing the ESRB with a federally legislated video game rating system complete with law enforced penalites) are the first step in destroying the freedoms of the First Amendment. But she wants to "protect the children" and paranoid conservative housewives and religious types love that shit.
That's why I won't vote for Hillary.

Goodlookinguy 2008-01-24 07:39 AM

No on Hilary, but yes on Obama or Edwards.
Leaning towards Obama.
Imagining if Hilary did win is too painful, well I guess it can't be all bad. As long as a Republican doesn't win.
