Something mantra and I have in common is that we both love hi-fidelity music.
My question is, does anyone else here have an unhealthy obsession with audio equipment and sound reproduction? I plan to spend entirely too much on headphones and related products this summer.
Also, if someone wants a suggestion on what headphones to get, I'll do my best.
Answer these questions for me when you post:
1) What's the most you could ever see yourself spending on headphones?
2) What do you use your headphones/speakers for?

Just curious, what's the most you'd ever spend on a pair?
I spent 20 dollars on a headphone / mic combo but the headphone was for only one ear. I usually just use those earbuds that I can buy for 4-5 dollars. I don't listen to much stuff that would require headphoknes, i Usually just set it through my pc speakers.

I would so I am sorta a music man. I was in my School's tech crew as a sound man ffs.
I spent $80 on a pair of philips isolation headphones. I would prolly spend a good $100-200 in the future for a solid pair. Not just for using to listen to music, but because i'm a drummer and I need solid ones for playing/listening to music/band playing as well (would be my monitors sorta thing) and so forth. Mixing as well I may add.
They are pretty good for what they do though. Right now, I have no mixer or anything.im at Uni, I have my comp lol. I don't have anything at home either, needed the money for Uni as well, so in the future I plan on getting a good mixer and so forth. Its a money issue at the moment for me.
I think I would rather upgrade or get a new drum set first to be honest. The one I have now is crap.
My onboard sound sucks balls so I can't use my mic ...so no headphones. I've gone through several pairs through stepping on them. About 10-15 bucks each.

I just use the basic headphones, I think the set I've got now came free with my mp3 player. I'd love to get a surround sound set, however my room really isn't advantagous for such right now. But once I'm on my own I plan on setting up a full surrond sound for my tv.
