Die-Polar

Here are the lyrics to the final track from my band's demo. Enjoy.

"Die-Polar"
(lyrics by myself)

The flakes first fell last night.
A frigid blanket on the world.
This is no winter wonderland.
But, the age of dying stars.

Cold fingers clasp my chest.
I bundle tight against the wind.
Struggle through it at my knees.
So pure, so fresh...but horrid.

Within a day the plows are dead.
Buried in my humble home.
No fire burns for long...
...and no one's here to keep me warm.

How did this all begin?
Was it nature's wrath, or the arrogance of men?
I suppose it doesn't matter either way.

I wake from sleep, so deep so cold.
I cannot move these frozen bones.
I will dig deeper as the snow...
continues...to...kill...me.

This wouldn't be so hard, if I wasn't alone.
Someone to die, curled in my stone cold arms.
I suppose it doesn't matter anymore.

With life's last breath on my lips,
I dig my way to the surface.
If I'm to die this day,
Then I'll do so immersed in beauty.

The horizon is a sea of diamonds.
The dying stars are glistening pearls.
