GameCube doesn't have a whole lot of RPGs but I will recommend a few other games for you...

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Don't be fooled by the cartoony graphics and kiddy look, this game is as solid as they come. The only prole with it is that it's too easy. I didn't die once the whole time and wasn't even really challenged by anything except the sneaking part and the final boss since I didn't realize what to do.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes - Even if you have played Metal Gear Solid for Playstation already, this is still a great game. Silicon Knights (I'll get to their previous work later) really did a great job rebuilding the game in a new engine. The only issue I had at first was with the first person shooting controls because the GameCube doesn't have pressure-sensitive controllers and you have to use Y to lower your weapon instead of easing off the button.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem - This is the aformentioned Silicon Knights game that earned them respect from me. The story takes you through the account of several different individuals involved in stopping a plot to end the world by an ancient race of gods. The combat system is a bit odd but pretty realistic and the animations are awesome. Creepy sounds ache through the walls and it can sometimes be difficult to discern whether or not there are enemies present. This brings me to the main idea of this game: Sanity. As you encounter enemies and things throughout the game, your sanity will drop causing you to start seeing things like blood dripping from the ceiling or walls. I won't give away more than that because some of them are pretty creepy and subtle. Anyway, if you like scary shit then you'll probably love this game.

As for Starcraft: Ghost, rumors are it's being delayed a lot more and may even end up being cancelled so don't get your hopes up.

Well, in the future, Resident Evil 4 will be coming out for GC exclusively, so that is going to be awesome. Another banging looking Zelda game is coming out in 2005 too.

As for games for GC. As Robotic said, get Zelda: The Wind Waker, it is one of my favorite games I've played in a while. I haven't started Zelda: The Four Swords Adventures yet, but I've heard good things about it. Raziel swears upon Metroid Prime, but I couldn't get into it really, although I honestly didn't give it more than an hour of playing time.

Besides RPGs, there are other really fun games to play multiplayer, such as Super Smash Brothers Melee, Mario Golf, Mario Cart, etc. They are not to be forgotten. They pack a lot of fun. A lot.

In addition to Skies fo Arcadia, you should grab Tales of Symphonia as well. Fucking awesome RPG.

Aside from that, Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, Beyond Good & Evil, Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero GX, Super Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and the upcoming Pikmin 2 will rock your world.

Oh yeah, forgot about Viewtiful Joe. The game is really fucking fun but is sometimes frustratingly difficult to force you to get better. I could beat it without dying once on Kids mode but I couldn't get past the "final" boss (Fire Leo) on Adults.

Playing it on Kids Mode is a waste of time. It doesn't encourage you to learn how to use Joe's VFX correctly. You can beat the game without ever using his powers once in Kids. You should have started on Adults, because then you'd have progressively learned how to play the game how it's meant to be played.

Also, Leo isn't that tough. There's a super-awesome second method to beating his ass that many might not be aware of. If you're interested, just ask.
