StarCraft 2 is currently scheduled for a release at the end of this year, Blizzard president Mike Morhaime announced today in an Activision Blizzard pre-E3 conference call. "We're targeting an end of year release--this year--for StarCraft 2," said Morhaime. "But as always, we won't release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players."

Isn't that nice of Blizzard to sort of announce a time and then add "We won't release it until it meets our standards.."?
As always.

Basically it means the game is pretty much finished, they're just going to fine tune and hype the shit out of it for another half year or more.

"..A dynamic 3rd-person camera view displays dramatic lighting, startling detail, and a blend of realistic and fantastical design. Co-developed by Blizzard Entertainment and Nihilistic Software, Inc.â„¢, StarCraft: Ghost is scheduled for release in late 2003."

What did that mean then?

It means they have bullshitted us in the past and could very much do so in the future; hence the little disclaimer they have now.

First day of E3 2009

E3 2009 so far..
http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/feature.../E3-2009-Index
http://e3.g4tv.com/e32009/index/
http://kotaku.com/tag/e3-2009/
http://e3.gamespot.com/?highlights_page=1

Just linking to a few sites' E3 index for those who just want to have a quick glance at what games are mentioned/introduced.

Noting a few things:
Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be 360 exclusive.
Dead Rising 2 is coming out on PS3 and 360.
Assassin's Creed 2, sequel to a game that I loathe, is coming out on PC, PS3 and 360.

Sony has dated God of War 3, and Bandai Namco is annoucing this.
Then Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is announced for the PS3.

I haven't had the chance to look at the trailers yet, but it looks like a pretty good convention so far.

I'm wanting to look more into the PSP GO. If it turns out to be good and cheap enough to be a viable MP3 player for me I might not have to purchase another Zune. Then again the ZuneHD is going to be immaculate.

$249, released in October/November, I believe.

---

Jack Tretton has confirmed that MGS: Rising is NOT a 360 exclusive. Indeed, the word "exclusive" was not tied to it during the MS conference.

---

Things I've found interesting (I'll add links at a later date):

Project Natal (MS Motion Control)
Sony's Motion Control

Heavy Rain (PS3)
Uncharted 2 (PS3)
FFXIV (PS3 - freakin' mumorpeger!)
Agent (PS3 - Rockstar Exclusive)
PSP Go!
Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3, PC, 360 - the gameplay during the Sony conference was amazing!)

On the 360 front, Crackdown and Left 4 Dead 2 looked prettier than their prequels.

Crysis 2 on PC, PS3 and 360.

Is that supposed to mean that it's an MMORPG? Because if so, that's pretty fucking obscure and uninformative. Asshole.

Anyone into Horror game?
Ju-On: The Grudge is going to be released for the Wii, check it out.

http://www.gametrailers.com/user-mov...trailer/317132

Then the E3 trailer was REALLY disappointing.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-ju-on-the/51036

Before that E3 trailer I had some hope, but now, I'm really not sure. I like Japanese horror movies, and was actually looking forward to it (despite not having a Wii, yet).

What do you guys think?

Why does Tetsuo: The Iron Man come to mind? It's not even really a horror movie! Err, anyway, yes! I find horror games very appealing, and Ju-On: The Grudge looks sufficiently creepy. Too bad I don't have a Wii either, though.
