Post The cat's out of the bag.

Posted 2003-07-25, 10:05 AM
Yesterday, me and another member had a little fun with some other member's accounts, slaynish and zagggon's actually.

My partner in crime had such an easy time guessing their passwords that he figured we could teach them a lesson. So we did.

I really must say, I hope not everyone has such easy passwords as slaynish and zagggon did and still do, it's like they were asking to be hijacked. Zagggons password was guessed on the first try, and I'm not sure how many tries it took to guess slaynish's since I'm not the one that guessed it.

Anyway, I'm not gonna say who I was working with, but they will probably come forward and say.

Are you serious? Have you never heard that expression before? It goes perfectly with the thread.

I hope Chruser doesn't take this too seriously, because isn't that like an attack on on other members? Seriously, don't do that again, and if that other person doesn't come forward, you should let us know who it is. Bad job !K_A!, very bad.

I wish we could ban zagggon for having such an easy password, I wish I could tell you it so you'd laugh your ass off but I won't.

I am serious most of the time. But after viewing K_A's other thread with the same topic in Chat forum, I was a bit confused.

I don't think it is people's fault for having easy passwords though.

ok this isnt good. i dont even remember my password and i am shure its easy to guess. oh wait, no it isnt. anyway my friend jon was being a jackass so i whent onto bnet and i thought, why dont i put some of them "failed to log in :" messages to mess with him, i entered the word "cow" and it loged in. i was surprized he still had his account, so i called him up and said "change your password" and so he did, seconds latter i tryed again, this time with "moo" and got it, i called him and told him to change it. this happened 13 times in a row, then i just got bord.

Why is it that people can't make propper passwords, anyway?
t3pG89tY3b
is a good password
1337
cow
your name
your address
your phone number
pretty much anything with meaning
is a bad password.

At first, it may seem like you'll never remember a completely random password, but in fact, with consistant use, you'll eventually memorize it

!King_Amazon! and kaos have both been banned for stealing member accounts, posting offensive porn-related material, excessive spam and "annoying" flash music for the sole purpose of damaging the board and the users.
