A young Carl Fredrickson meets a young adventure spirited girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to a Lost Land in South America. 70 years later, Ellie has died. Carl remembers the promise he made to her. Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. But before they can take him, he and his house fly away. However he has a stowaway aboard. An 8 year old boy named Russell, whose trying to get an assisting the elderly badge. Together, they embark in an adventure, where they encounter talking dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin.
This synopsis basically lays it out perfectly. Watching this movie recently was probably the most fun i've had in any theater in a long while. (Keep in mind I was a bit under the influence). Upon entering AMC, my girlfriend and I are handed some nerdy looking 3D glasses, which was cool, Drew Carey status for sure. We watch some of the basic previews, and about 5 minutes after they dim the lights all of the previews go into 3D-mode, which was excellent. Seeing the Ice Age preview along with Toy Story 3 preview in 3D spectacular. I really feel this could be the new cool thing, and Pixar/Disney are taking stride to make it happen.

The entire movie was much more philosophical than I had orignally thought it would be. (I went in with the impression that it was going to be a stupid kid movie that hadly made much sense, but looked sweet because the basis was to have a 3D movie). I couldn't have been more wrong, and I love it. Every scene was so greatly edited and modified, and I applaud the staff that must've worked diligently, the movie was worth it to go see in theater for sure.

I really have strong feelings this movie is going to take a few honor awards, and I greatly recommend it. If you guys ever get bored, go check it out. And make sure to watch it in 3D.

How's the reaction from the audience?
The reason I like seeing a movie in theatre is that the experience is quite different when you watch it with a bunch of random audience, well, given that they are not a rude crowd. (Which I don't run into very often here, but back in Hong Kong..)

I might go watch this one.

The audience's reaction was pretty typical of what the movie was, awestricken. There was a bunch of kids/parents combination I could tell with a quick little scan, and a few teenage couples, and that was about it. And everyone seemed to be really happy with it. But yeah, i'd recommend it. The 3D in addition with a huge 50ft screen and awesome surround sound is something that's hard to pass up.
