Post Mud blocked by internet company. Help?
Reply

I play a Mud that was just recently blocked by my internet company. I've played the damn game for 6 and ½ years and i'm even paying for it now and they just blocked it about 15 days ago. I can start the game enter my pass and choose what character and after that it's says waiting while connecting to the game world. My friends sees me as online but i only see the loading screen. Is it any way i can breach the block or demand them to unblock it?

EDIT: If you don't know the answer to his question, there's no need for you to cry out random, pointless comments. Don't do that again.

Um a few things, For one. What is MUD?

Secondly, it might not be your connection, it may just be your computer, If I knew more about the program I could help more.

Is it a program that you've loaded on your computer? If so, try reinstalling it, or check to see if you've changed any settings on your computer lately.

It's a text based game.

Windows System Restore on XP and such might be a good idea to run if you reach the point where you can rule out your ISP from the blame. Just like D3V said, it could be software-related, but undoing all of the driver changes for the past few weeks may not be the best of things to do.

Did they give you a reason why they did this?

Maybe try using a proxy.

Umm, Well. So you called them, and they said they blocked the game? First of all, that doesn't seem very logical that your Isp would block a website based game..... Did they happen to give a reason why they blocked the game?

What ISP are you running under? Because if its aol, get rid of it and that will solve the problem. Because AOL has issues with stuff with chats, and the parental controls can block these kinds of things, you could possibly ask your parents to allow this certain site if there isn't anything offensive on it. (this is if you have aol)

Uncapped, would you fucking quit being such a little bitch? Jesus christ, you should be banned for your stupidity....moving on

Well K_A, if he can't get on a website, then he might not be able to connect through a proxy (if he's on aol)

Are you sure they blocked the game and not the ports it (or you) are using to connect to it?

I doubt that they would actually go to the trobule of blockign the ports, and not the website. Website would take less time.

Thats most likely the port on the website, not the computer. But even so, I doubt that Makenshi's ISP blocked this stuff.

Well, my ISP blocked Napster from working for a little while. Don't know if the new one works. Other P2P software is fine, though.
