Dwarf dude.

And he wasn't at all easy. I used every buff I had and he was still near-1 shotting me. The only way I beat him was by healing myself every turn and managing to get a few lucky shots in on him.

I was almost to the point of cheating a bit, but I wanted to do it without cheating. Either way, you can apparently go into the fight with your main character dead which makes your secondary character fight instead, and then resurrect your main character to 2v1 him. I still don't think it would have been easy.

His name's Olvan.

From what I've read, Wilme and Lejes are supposed to be the easiest. Lux and Esuna are supposed to be the worst of the bunch.

I don't know about that. First time I played through, I used Lejes, had to fight Wilme, and got my ass beat for several days. Took some serious grinding to take him out.

Here's a secret for double-teaming during an apprentice fight - get your main character killed and don't revive them. Start the fight with only the partner, then revive the main character during the fight. Proceed to kick your fellow apprentice's ass with the help of your partner. Enjoy.

I already posted that. Way to pay attention.

That's lame anyway, I would have probably quit before resorting to that. I was pretty determined to do it legit, but I was slightly tempted. In the end, I'm happy I didn't cheat, because I did it without cheating so there.
