I only played it once on PC, and a few times on SNES. I HATED the SNES version, but the PC version seemed alright.

Pah, you don't know the MEANING of the word "gay"...

...okay, well maybe you do. But, the game is still a great idea. I thought it sounded pretty lame when I first read about it, but the concept kind of grows on you after a while.

It's an updated version of Animal Forest (an N64 game) which was only released in Japan.

*Shrug* I just got it a week ago.. It's pretty cool. You have to talk to the villagers, plant/cut down trees, fish, get fruit off of trees, dig up fossils, write letters, attend festivals (on the proper date, too!), pay off your mortgage, get furniture for your house, design your own clothing / wallpaper / carpets / umbrellas, send rare stuff to the museum, and other cool stuff.

You can do whatever you want. You can be nice to the villagers and they'll give you stuff for your house, or you can smack 'em with your bug catching net to piss 'em off. The only problem I have is with the letter writing system.. sometimes the animals can't understand simple letters ("What is your Birthday?") and they run out of stuff to talk about sometimes.

My favorite part would be the NES games you can unlock.. I have CluClu Land, Donkey Kong, and Balloon Fight so far.

I agree, the commercial was ultra gay. They could've done just a little better with the graphics too.

Did you not read my post??? THE GRAPHICS ARE FROM THE N64. It's an updated version of Animal Forest, which was released only in Japan on the N64. They didn't do a complete graphics overhaul because it's not necessary for a game of that type. If it was an action or adventure game, sure. But not a life sim. A total graphics upgrade would have taken a ridiculous amount of time for a pretty unnecessary effect.

Four? Darn you, I only got 2.. and lots of Red Snappers... Hope you donated one of those Coelacanths to the museum though.

Yeah, I donated one, sold two, and kept the other as a pet. I actually could have had seven but I fucked up three times in a row. However, I'm still in the process of acquiring those damned NES games. I have yet to find even ONE.
