ROFL. Speaking of stereotypical and ignorant, when did I say anything about being unhappy or hating your life? YOU fabricated that one. I just gave an example of a stereotypical emo type of thing for something that IS indeed stereotypical in its nature. Every emo band there is has ridiculous long titles about stupid shit and that type of thing. If you want some examples I could look around myspace for you.

And I am not ignorant. I quite knowledgable about music. Not in the sense of spewing out obscure band names, but I actually KNOW music. I'm sure there are some good emo bands out there, but mostly in the sense that people like them. See, music is two things. Art, and etertainment. Just because people like a painting does that make it good? No. Just like music. And NO, it is not a bold artistic statement to put your hair over one eye and sing like a girl and play power chords and some bad harmonies while one guy sings something and another asshole screams it in a high pitched voice.

I've dealt with enough emo, elitist assholes to not become an elitist asshole myself. I'm sorry, but you are incorrect.

Believe me, we make fun of emo people, and we are in no way emo, and our lyrics most definatly are not "emo".

Thats just the easiest way to define it. Singing, some minor screaming.

The name you came up implied my assumptions, so ssshhh on that you didn't say anything, you implied. Like 90% of myspace bands suck anyways... and their gay names are probly associated to why they suck, no talent... bands pop out like herpes on a crack whore so yeah a lot suck and are gay but that dosen't make them what emo is. I do have to agree with mostly what you said about if people like it does it make it good?

What I do hate about Emo is lots of people try to be "Emo" and come up with good peotic lyrics and end up just killing it. So I have no problem when people get the wrong idea, but I still think there view on it is ignorant. Bands like Saosin(Screamo), Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service, are good, bands like Fall Out Boy which I do love their msuic isn't good its just typical lyrics which would fall under that "Nice Painting" subject what you were talking about.

I dont even know why I am going on about it... it dosen't even matter. I have the same ignorant views on rap, so I can't be too hypocritcal

What are you?

The type of music you listen to doesn't reflect your own life.

Does everyone who listenes to 50 Cent really shoot up the town? No. Does everyone who listens to "emo" music cut their wrist and comb their hair over one eye? Definatly not... I certainly don't.

Post some of the lyrics, or a couple of the songs. That'll give everyone a better idea of what you're like.

Oooh! Oooh! Here's a myspace band that are in that top 10%. Heck, NME recently voted them coolest band of the year. In 8 months they've gone from nothing to top of the singles charts to coolest band. And they're from near Yorkshire! Gah!

Listen to Fake Tales of San Francisco. Amazing song.
