Metallica is no doubt legendary, but they haven't really done anything since 1997. I don't count Garage Inc. or S&M as great accomplishments either. I love Metallica, but I've been listening to them since I was 12. A person tends to get bored after a while. And everything you mentioned was either Black Album, Load or Reload material. Their best stuff is all on Master of Puppets and Ride The Lightning.

SOAD is marginal. I wasn't too hot on their debut, and "Steal This Album" just plain sucks. Toxicity was great, but one album isn't enough to make me a monster fan. And they're pretty dull in concert. I've sat through them twice and their live performance is nothing compared to Slipknot or Mushroomhead.

But, I prefer much heavier stuff than that, for the most part. Iced Earth, Arch Enemy, Sentenced, Moonspell, Dark Tranquility. That's quality metal. You want some good song suggestions?

Arch Enemy - "Ravenous"
Darkane - "Innocence Gone"
Soilwork - "As We Speak"

P.S. DFD, I'm liking the Soultaker sig.

I saw him mention the origin of his avatar on another thread. The only thing I know about the show is that's it's completely unwatchable.
I've got to stop making comments like this. Right after I posted that I saw p1ng mention it in another thread.

Punk is shit. Plain and simple. The old stuff, the new stuff, all of it. Listen to heavy metal. Absorb a few hours worth of In Flames and Nevermore and you'll be set for life.
! shit ?! yes it was supposed to be like.

The clash, The sex pistols, UK subs, Peter and the Test tube babies, Dead Kennedys etc... were the best bands ever. Nirvana is one of them too.
It's better than the shit you ear all day long in all TV/Radio like Britney spears, and all these fucking crappy R&B for example.

These bands fucked up the 'business system', they made songs because they had something to said, because they wanted to have fun.. They were not making music to earn a big bank account...
This was GREAT REAL music.

Punk is not dead !!!

Yeah I agree Metallica should come back. -_-;
And SOAD in concert, I saw them at Ozzfest, even though they may not be that active on stage they were still cool. Just the guy's stiff inanimate body and cartoon-like facial expressions are enough to make you laugh your ass off. But yeah, Steal This Album did suck.

And thanks for your comment on my sig. I wasnt too sure about it since nobody was replying to the test in the test forum.

Maybe tonight we'll fly so far away... We'll be lost before the dawn...

You were at Ozzfest this year, DFD? What city? I was in Denver. I was against the rail for the whole 2nd stage. Ten feet from Phil Anselmo and the rest of Down. Of course I was practically unconscious for the majority of the main stage, but that was fine by me. I was only interested in seeing BLS, Rob Zombie and Ozzy anyway.

Soultaker is a badass series. I just wish I'd picked up one of the action figures when I had the chance...

Raziel, I was at the Ozzfest in Sacramento. I had to leave like 2 minutes after Ozzy came out though because my friend had stolen the car we drove there in from someone he knew and wanted to get it back before the people got home.
I was at the second rail too for the whole thing, I was gonna go into the moshpit however my friend had hurt his ankle or knee or something earlier that day in a Soccer game.
System had the biggest mosh pit, I so wanted to go down there, but it woulda been wrong just to leave my friend there while I went and kicked some ass. Zombie put on a hell of a show didnt he?
In ours, he went down into the mosh pit for about a minute or two and jumped around in there and couldnt get out for a little while it was hilarious. When he did get back up on stage he said "Boy, it's a hell of a lot harder to get outta there than it is to get down there."

PS - Yes, it was this year.

Maybe tonight we'll fly so far away... We'll be lost before the dawn...

So, then what did you think of the 2nd stage acts? Frankly I was only really interested in Neurotica, Ill Nino, Mushroomhead, Meshuggah, and Down. I was looking forward to seeing Soil live, but neither they nor The Used played.

Were you at the 2001 show? I've only been to those two, and 2001 blew last year's away.

Nah I was just at the last one. But I intend to go to next years.
I was interested in seeing System, Zombie (He was cool, he played some White Zombie songs that kicked ass,) Ill Nino is cool too.
I want to see Korn at one of them just because I like the song "Here to Stay"

Old Korn is great. New Korn...not so sure about. Although I did like "Here To Stay." I'm getting more and more excited about this year's show because Anthrax might be on the bill. Rob was really badass last year. Great live show. He needs to just take it a little easier so he doesn't get so winded on stage. His vocals have a tendency to suffer a bit.
