Perm IP Ban

Does anyone know if Blizzard permanently bans IPs?

Sometimes I temporarily cannot connect to battle.net through Diablo2 nor their website. The website just plain won't load and it is stuck at querying gateway for diablo2. This has been going on for approx 12 hours now. I am 100% sure it isn't my computer, as I've tested it with 3 other computers on my network and none of them have access either.

Just wondering if my IP is permanently banned so I'll have to go change it...

I dont think they can ban an IP since you could just change it anyway, its possible your CD-key was banned.

wouldnt that be illegal for them to do? but anyways no i highly doubt they did that. doing that would really mean you must have done something that was considered a threat to them which i doubt you did.

I think they only Temp Ban an IP, for several hours to a week. It happens to my friends before, but it's working again when time passed.

It's not as easy to change your IP if you are on cable/DSL, at least not for me. We can't just disconnect and reconnect with a new one.

And no, zagggon, it's not illegal if they ban someone from using THEIR servers.

I'm able to connect now.

It's not my cd key, I have about 10 cd keys and none could get in. I guess it was as Senesia said, just a prolonged temp ip ban.
