Best Fighting Game(s)

Well, I have had two consistant favorite series when it comes to fighting games; the two being Tekken and Mortal Kombat. I've played every game in both series (with the exception of Deception) and I beat all of them. It's not just fighting. There's complex, interesting storylines you can uncover with each game. Here's my list of the top 3:

#3 Tekken 3-Tekken 3 was my first experience with the Tekken series. I played it at my brother's place, and I got hooked. I loved Jin, Ogre, Paul and the movies that were shown at the end of the stages. It was far different from the MK games I had played for a long time. Still, I adjusted and grew to like it alot.

#2 Mortal Kombat 3-Also first played at my brother's house. It was great. The young Sub-Zero, Kano, Sonya and the rest were all kickass. It was a challenge to get to Motaro and Khan, but I did it. I beat the game at least once on every difficulty. Though, I would often lose to hopefully see some fatalities.

#1 Tekken 2-After playing Tekken 3, I wanted to know more. I needed to find the previous games in the series. I found Tekken 2 at some store. Through this game, I learned about Jin. (i had never read the booklet that game with Tekken 3) It was even easier because I knew 99% of Jin's moves, and he used a few of his mother's, a fighter in the game named Jun Kazama, so that was cool. The videos were even more interesting. I was unable to pull myself away. I kept unlocking character after character, until finally! I unlocked Kazuya Mishima. He's my favorite character of all the series. He was even harder to beat than Devil, and he used many of Jin's moves. All the characters were great and I loved seeing their end movies, but Kazuay blew them all away.

Those are my favorite fighting games. Screw you Street Fighter and SC. Tekken owns all your asses.

I loved the streetfighter series, especially sf 2 turbo.

My mom wouldnt let me play MK , although I did at a friends house, it was pretty cool.

Best ever was Tekken 3 on the psx, played that forever at my friends house. That volleyball mode pwned.

Last good fighting game I played was, Capcom vs SNK, very nice and once you turn up the speed it becomes awesome.

Mine would have to be Mortal Kombat 2 for the SNES. I knew EVERYTHING for that game. Best character was Scorpion. He was pimp. Never played the Tekken series of fighters, and Virtua Fighter was an okay game. Didn't really like the Street Fighter series. They were too addicting.

I just bought that yesterday, and was greatly disappointed. I like 3 and the ultimate series was just 1 and 2. Now I gotta go and trade that in for 3. DAMN IT.

For which system? If it is on PS2 then maybe. If it is on XBOX, then "yeah right" and if it is on Gamecube, then I would whoop on you so bad.....maybe not but I can dream can't I?

Zombie, pick up Tekken 2. It has some kinks that can be understood because of its release date. Still, Tekken 3 shows alot of the characters aged. Paul, Anna, Kuma, Lei, and many others look alot better in 2. Plus, Jun, Kazuya, Lee, Devil, and Prototype Jack are in it. You can get Tekken Tag if you want to play them all, I guess. But! Tekken 2 owns all other Tekken games.

I have it for xbox and ps2 and have played it for gamecube as well.... no one beats me on any system... and the only difference from them is slightly better/worse graphics that are hardly noticeable and the controller. I personally play best with ps2 controller because it has 4 trigger buttons, but the worst controller is the gamecubes... my fingers always seem to hit more then one button at once because they are all crowded together to fit a child's hand. The best way to play SC2 is at the arcade though.

Anyone here ever played Guilty Gear X for PS2? I played it briefly at a friend's house once and it was pretty fun.

I've played Gulity Gear XX, and GG Isuka. GGXX is much better than isuka due to the story mode... (which Isuka lacks. In fact, Isuka lacks pretty much everything, except it has the beat 'em up mode...)

I also like Last Blade 2, and KoF 98. (Dragonball Z: Budokai 3 got me hooked for quite awhile, too.)
