The saying "the whole 9 yards" refers to the length of the bullet holders in a Mustang P45 2nd world war aircraft - once the pilot had "used the whole nine yards" it was time to get out of there

Great Britain was the first county to issue postage stamps. The postage stamps of Britain are the only stamps in the world not to bear the name of the country of origin, every stamp carries a silhouette of the monarch's head instead
